yep. loud is easy. quiet is much more difficult. i can ring up mbv yet again this thread. loveless sounds great quiet...especially on drugs, lying on the floor with a bookshelf speaker six inches away from either ear.

but anyways...loud: zaireka on four cd players playing full blast from different rooms in a house. zeppelin on era appropriate equipment: a ca.1969 magnovox console turntable was an attitude changing experience in regards to how good mastering and good equipment can mesh perfectly. (chavez - who made a couple great 'loud' records - sounded awful on the same system). my current favorite loud listen is flying lotus. anyone into the j dilla / el-p inspired hiphop should definitely pick it up.
