I pleased I didn't by tickets to see them at Meltdown in June...
And equally as please that I saw them a couple of years ago!
Allen and Burnham left Gang of Four again
12Buried in that Pitchfork article is that Burnham has been recording stuff with Mike Watt. Which is a cool idea, in theory. Maybe not a cool idea in 2008, but at least cool as a concept.

13Hell, that's not such bad news. I've been trying to find a good bassist and drummer forever. I wonder if I can get them to relocate to the Oberpfalz area.

14So are we correct over here in assuming that the actual issue is that Gill and King are just total bitches, or what? Alex M.? ...No disrespect, y'all know how I am about early-times Gang of Four, but christ almighty. If there was going to be some decent (i.e. non-Mall-style) new material ... pfaahgh. Tsuh. Best to Allen and Burnham.

No, they all suck ass, except for the bass and drums sounding "better."

Correct. Ladytron's take on "Natural's Not In It" is passable and that's it.
Anyone see them at Meltdown?

Hey, if the music's good, who cares how "dad rock" that sounds? Jon Wurster is on Bob Mould's upcoming record and I'm salivating about that, too. At least in theory.

17I didn't get to see GO4 but Gang of Two sure sucks the llama's ass live.

18I was just talking the other day about what a surprise those shows were a few years ago. Gang of Four were a band I always wanted to see live with the original line up, and I am glad they lived up to my expectations.

19I think that everyone should look over all the mean / snarky comments on the Gang of Four new demos a couple of months ago. About how thease guys should never have come back. Who knows what the demos might have come to if they had been worked on.
Now that they are gone again everyone is sad.
People are funny.

Me'shell Ndegeocello?
She's actually a pretty amazing bassist.
