I thought I'd do this.

Probably my two favourite Hardcore Punk bands.

As you all know, there had been some tention with Keith Morris (ex-Black Flag vocalist) who quit the band and then formed the Circle Jerks. He then stole some of the songs he had written with Black Flag and put them on the Group Sex LP. Black Flag replied with a song on their Jealous Again EP, rearranging the lyrics, attacking Morris about him stealing their song.

In my opinion, I'd have to go with Black Flag. Both released milestone records which were both influential. It's just that the Circle Jerks have lasted longer and have gone down the spiral. Still, their a great live presence, even at this present day.

I know that pre-My War was the best Black Flag, but In My Head is really good.

1st Black Flag 7'' > Group Sex

can't say i care for much else by either of these bands. if Keith Morris had a longer stay with Black Flag i'd most likely be interested in more than their first single (which is super fantastic). great vocalist.

Rollins didn't ruin the Circle Jerks.

Absolutely right. I have a hard time understanding how someone who likes the Melvins can hate My War. Buzz claims that this record was a huge influence.........

my war sucks. between that and slip it in, i stopped paying attention to Black Flag.

I can't stand to hear either one anymore, but Circle Jerks are even more for kiddies than Black Flag, so I'll go with the Flag. Not that I care at all.

Black Flag. Their first batch of demos are raw. Great jams right there.
