So the Appliances-SFB crap/not crap thread got me to wondering.

Does anyone have an album of theirs to sendspace? I want to hear this band, they seem pretty great.
Life...life...I know it's got its ups and downs.

I've been listening to the KTU and Yves Weyh albums all day. So good. I have to get the other 3 albums in the next 3 days (not a RapidShare member).

Are you familiar with Uniko? It's Kimmo Pohjonen Kluster in collaberation with Kronos Quartet.

Nothing recorded yet but you know it's gonna be fucking good.

Enjoy.

Colonel, the archive does not extract with either winzip or winrar. It has a *._series extension (never heard of it). Solution for people who might or have downloaded the file: use universal extractor

projectMalamute wrote:It is a zip file, it's just got a funny name.

On Windows you might have to rename it something with a .zip at the end.

ssakmule wrote:I forgot to mention it, but I already tried suffixing both .zip/.rar before trying universal extractor & it did not work. Give it a try & see.

This is weird. When I created the archive, I saved it as a regular zip file with a ".zip" extension.

The cause of the problem seems to be that decimal point in the filename after the "6". Megaupload seems to have "assumed" that everything following the first dot was the filetype extension, and so it lopped off the real file extension. How stupid. Guess Megaupload doesn't like filenames with more than one dot in them.

Anyway, the archive itself is fine. Like projectMalamute said, it just needs to be renamed to something with a ".zip" at the end so Windows will know what application to use when opening it.

Just do this: download the file and then rename it "THE_EX_-_6._series.zip", then double-click it. It will open normally. I just did it that way on my parents' machine (a Windows XP PC) and it worked fine.

I just edited my original post above to add those instructions.

Sorry about the confusion, BTW.

I simply cannot wait for that to come out. If they don't record anything
there's going to be trouble.

There are 2 more Yves Weyh - Zakarya Cd's. Marc Ribot plays on the last
one. If I find em/buy them, i'll stick them up.

this is great. Jesus Lizardish in spots...

thanks.

Funny. A lot of people think this too, but Eugene told me via email that the only Lizard album he has is Down and that he's not a huge fan (though I think that might be because Denison insulted him behind his back once, calling him "contrived"...hilariously detailed in the tour diaries), and the constant comparisons kind of piss him off because he doesn't think Oxbow sounds anything like them.

Yeah, I kind of felt the same way. Let me be a Woman was my first exposure to Oxbow. And I remember thinking at first how it sounds like something Steve could of worked on.

I remember earlier seeing A GILDED ETERNITY download here by the droney-shoegazey band LOOP. It came up on my ipod on the way to work today. Not bad. Good!

Anyone have that Peel Sessions CD/LP ripped of theirs, or any other decent recordings? I used to have a cassette of their peel sessions that I remembered being good. Don't know much else about them.

If that's Wolf/Flow I might still have it.

I had a lot of Loop stuff at one point, and I dunno if I have actually gotten rid of it or not. I will look when I get home.
I make music/I also make pretty pictures
