My truck got stolen a few months ago, we went looking for it and found it parked a few blocks away.

the cop drove me around for a bit to look for it. Although I didn't really understand the route she took. seems like she missed the obvious route intentionally. didn't even go the way the thief fled. It was like she was just going through the motions, that there was no hope of recovering the car and that if anything, the whole experience was trivial to her.

she told me to get into the back seat so she could question me. fortunately, I believe it was the first time I was ever in the back seat of a cop car. nonetheless, it was kind of scary and as close to the concept of actually being jailed that I've ever experienced. the seats were made of hard formed plastic, like a seat on a roller coaster. when I first got in and sat down, I thought the seat was missing. wtf? I didn't realize until I guess right now the full impact. I guess a hard formed plastic seat washes / cleans a lot easier: blood, shit, piss, barf spit etc.

fuck you philadelphia!

after she did the 10 minute drive around, I walked around the streets we missed. didn't see anything. I'm pretty much assuming it's gone. the guy got into the car without making a noise, with me about 25 feet away in the house, with the door open. I'm assuming he was a pro.

although I can get along with out a car right now, it definitely puts a little crimp in my style. most jobs in my profession are outside of the city. a large percentage of them are not accessible via public transportation. that car was also a good car to have for fuel efficiency and it only had about 115k miles on it, with a new clutch, newer timing belt, etc. It would've run for several more years.

It may be kinda different up here but my car was stolen a few years back. Didn't think anyone would want a 93 Dodge Spirit, but turns out it, like your Civic, was a popular car to steal. Called the police right away, did the report etc. and 48 hours later they called having found my car. Seems kids took it for a joy ride and they found it in a town 45 minutes away, where it likely ran outta gas. The car was fine save for a scratch on the door. Ended up bein' able to drive that Spirit to 498 856 km so no major damage was done by the theft. They just stole EVERYTHING in my car including about $5000 dollars worth of camera gear I had been collecting and using for 16 years (just not at that point in the night...), and some other things much beloved. Hard lesson learned. And how! Older Hondas indeed were the most popular cars to steal up here nationwide as well. So easy to steal that CBC and CTV ran separate cautionary documentaries on it and Honda had to change things to make them less prone to theft. If the person couldn't drive a stick, they weren't a pro. Hope it turns up for you like mine did.

The face at the window. The features I know. I try to escape but the world is too slow...
