With the $5000 worth of shit you left in it.

Yeah. Sorry, WITH everything in it. Again, a hard ass lesson to learn. The gear was locked in the trunk but they could and did release the trunk hatch from the inside. Had been on a shoot earlier that night then went to a pub for a quick happy birthday to a pal. In there about 15 minutes total.

The 'Hope it turns up like mine', was meant just for the car part. Hopefully the author of this thread didn't have anything like that in his car at the time.
The face at the window. The features I know. I try to escape but the world is too slow...

I owned a powder blue 90 civic hatch back. sweet little car, great mileage, and those things, they don't ever give up. it had alot of miles on it. you can run one for life, the only thing that sucks is if you have cold winters they don't ventilate well, so you have fogged up windows, ice on the inside of th windows when it freezes. hope your car turns up.

I kind of agree, but despite being a new clutch put in by a honda dealer (long story) it still was kind of a difficult shifting car. So, even though I could drive it with a I guess 2 year old clutch with maybe 6000 miles on it, it never really felt right.

so, his quick entry into the car was professional, his driving skills, not so professional.

I have a love/hate relationship with this car, so last night I was kind of bemused by it all. part of me was glad to see it gone. this morning, it's kind of sinking in, that essentially, I just got robbed of close to $2000, plus all the time/effort involved. I'm getting more and more pissed, and less and less bemused.

My friend's car was stolen in Chicago recently. It turned up after a month.

Was there any cameras filming during the theft? Maybe some security camera on your block? Even the next block? Providing footage of the criminal is helpful. The police are basically useless in finding the car unless they pull over the guy that stole it. If it doesn't turn up in a month, I'd say your car was stripped for parts. Good luck sir.

thanks for all the support.

well, it is finally starting to sink in and I'm starting to get pissed. I hated that car, so I had mixed feelings, but now I just see it as if someone robbed me of about $1500.

I'm hoping it turns up, but I'm also wary of what condition it will be in. the asshole had trouble driving it, so I'm assuming the clutch is shot. He may have been driving it with the emergency brake on.

philadelphia is really starting to wear me down.

I had a truck stolen a couple years back. The girlfriend was leaving for work, walked back inside and said "Wheres your truck?" Never recovered.

I almost had another truck mistakenly repoed. This was the truck I got after the stolen one so I put an alarm on it. Around two AM I heard my alarm going off in the apartment parking lot. Since I could see my truck from my bedroom window I looked out to see it being hoisted onto a tow truck. I go running out and start screaming at the tow truck guy to get my truck down. He starts fumbling around with some paperwork saying my truck was on his list for repo. After seeing my truck VIN and the repo VIN dont match he apologizes and releases my truck.
I wonder what would happen if I didnt have an alarm and he took the truck. Would they have to return the truck to my parking lot after realizing the mistake? Would I get a phone call saying I would have to come down and claim it? Was he really just trying to steal trucks under the guise of repo papers?

call places that buy scrap metal. a friend found his stolen truck that way. the thief was there trying to sell it when he called. Of course they'd completely torn it apart by tat point, but he did find his truck.
