4726I'm listening to myself practice guitar in my little Marshall headphone amp.
I am completely frustrated and on the verge of tears. I feel like there is a chunk of my brain missing.
I hate you, chord charts.
I hate you, chords.
I hate you, stupid fingers.
I even hate you, guitar.

just plug on with it, it's worth it.
incidentally, which kinds of chords are giving you trouble? open or barre?
if it's any consolation, I probably can't make the kinds of noise that you can probably make on guitar.
Life...life...I know it's got its ups and downs.

4728What kind of chords?
I am wrestling with the Guitar 101 stuff. A, D, and today I added G.
I had to start over b/c the chord charts I had were not flipped over for lefty and I couldn't figure out why everything sounded off, and why I was really hurting myself trying to play G...stop laughing.
I am sure I'm going to maim myself before this is over.

I'm not laughing. (...ok, I am a little, but in sympathy.) It's hard! It tears up your fingers.
I'm sure you can do it. anyone can play guitar.
I eventually caved in to taking lessons, though. I was surprised at how quickly I started getting better after that...sometimes self-teaching isn't the way to go.

You could leave off the fifth (the D) and just play the root and third together if it hurts your fingers.
