I think I saw an article on that there are sections of the film that were shot with some sort of camera that is designed for the IMAX format.

That seems to justify the extra dough for the IMAX showing.


Definitely see it in IMAX. Several scenes were shot with IMAX cameras and it's impossible to recreate the brightness, richness, and sheer scale of that format in any other way. Nolan deliberately avoided CGI as much as possible, especially in the IMAX-shot scenes, to give the movie both epic heft and gritty photorealism.

I've got a full-on geek chub for this movie. Can't wait.

They had the IMAX premier across the street from my job yesterday. I was walking across the street and I see the fucking Batmobile. The real one. From the movie. Someone was driving it. Awesome.

My friend Greg works with a guy who is getting one. An actual Batmobile, built by the guys who built the movie one.
