I would love to own a DX7.

An urban myth. Well, the music nerd equivalent.

DX7s go for about £150-£200 on eBay. Quite a bit, really. Try and get one with some expansion packs thrown in.

I have a modern softsynth version (NI FM7) for when I feel like channelling Jan. It's great. Like most digital-emulating softsynths, it's probably better than the hardware equivalent.

I have one with 2 expansion packs, a sustain pedal and a volume pedal.

AND the manual.

Seconded. I remember the "Le Car" everywhere as a kid, and my first crush's mom thought she was hot shit with her Renault Fuego, complete with garishly large The One To Watch!!! decal in the rear window.

I'll add:

Fiats
Vanagons
Yugos
high-top fades
ocean liners
Hammer pants
Selectrics
Burger Queen
Burger Chef
Rax Roast Beef
Vie de France
Arthur Treacher's Fish and Chips anywhere but NYC or one particular I-95 stop in Delaware
Big Star grocery stores
