Grosse Pointe Spam: G.Hardwick-Taiga Remains Split 10"

hi,

I'm guessing only a very small proportion of the PRF will actually be interested in this, but sod it, it's worth a try...

The micro label that i run, Low Point, has a new release out. It's a Split 10" Vinyl EP featuring yours truly on one side and the awesome Taiga Remains taking up the flip.

Both myself & Taiga Remains do experimental solo guitar music, so this release will possibly appeal to fans of ambient/drone stuff like Stars of the Lid, Growing, etc. Sound samples can be heard on the Low Point website - http://www.low-point.com/LP020.html

It's packaged to look like an old 78rpm and the centre labels have been designed by the PRFs very own honeyisfunny. Here's pic of what it looks like;

cool eh? Anyway, copies are on sale for £4.50 plus shipping. Please buy one so that i can get drunk this weekend with my friends.

Thanks!

I've done a few split releases - i'm guessing it's the Split with Machinefabriek you're referring to - i'm glad you like it!

Chris has done quite a lot of design work for me so i know what you mean. However, the criteria was to make it look like an old 1930's 78rpm release (hence the Art-Deco font, minimalist packaging, etc), which i think the design fulfils perfectly.

It was Gareth's idea to have the green bags and have it like a 78 and he gave me some 78 label designs to look at and replicate. If I'd done it all of my own accord it would have a smoking elephant on the front which, coincidentally, is the sleeve of the new Lords record.
