I can't live without coffee.
Tchai-ovna is an amusing name. I went to Dobra Čajovna for shish pipes and tea in the town I was living in, in the Czech Republic.
1 day in Glasgow - what to do?
13Monorail is a good call, also Avalanche in Dundas Street.
As Glasgow is the curry capital of the world...a curry is a must...so many decent places to choose from, but I recommend The Village in Nelson Street (5 minute walk from City Centre across the Clyde).
Anyway...enjoy...best city in the world.

14Get up early, take a quick train over to Edinburgh, and touch Tynecastle Stadium.

Pretty good apart for the important part. We love swearing but nobody pronounces 'cunt' 'coont'.
The 'u' is pronounced 'U'. As in punt.
CUNT

Practise it.

16Check out films at the GFT.
Have a pint in the Variety Bar.
Monorail is a good call. Also try 13th Note.
The art gallery at Kelvingrove is impressive. We've got a Dali.
West end, Ashton lane, good for food and drink. Try the Inidan there, the Ashoka. Haggis pakora!
Steer clear of anyone drinking Buckfast.

17Monorail - perhaps it should have been mentioned it's partly owned and run by Stephen Pastel?
Kelvingrove Art Gallery was a shocking omission and a must see - one of the highlights of the West End.
Other architectural riches include The Glasgow School of Art (wonderful art Art Nouveau designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh) - one of my favourite buildings.
And yup - Ashton Lane (just off the Byres Road) is a great spot for a drink. I'm going to have to plan a trip again soon.

18Kelvingrove park. Beautiful green space and ideal for wasting a few hours in the sun... if it's not raining.
Monorail is a must, as is Tchai Ovna.
Also, check out Volcanic Tongue - dude who runs it writes for Wire mag and stocks all sorts of obscure shit.
Oxfam record store on Byres Rd is great, too. The manager andy is both one of the best and hardest to understand people I know.
As for coffee, I lived there for 7 months and never found a good one.

It's generally a straight "cunt" but with a hard "t" at the end, or occasionally a "keeyant" depending on that occasion.
We do love swearing, and often you should try and not take offence. A silly cunt is not always such a bad thing.
