To answer the original question...

Pull the boot off the carb. Get a cup and pour a little gas in it, and pour some gas down the back side of the carb (in the middle of the manifold. That's where the carb feeds it in) and try to start it that way. It will be flooded, so you have to floor it. If it doesn't start after a bunch of kicks, then you know it's something else, not the carb.
Or, you can try some ether starting fluid, spray that down there. If it starts up, then you know the carb is fucked up because you have spark, but it's not getting gas.

Have you checked the Selenium Rectifier?

I had replaced mine at least twice when I was riding it frequently. They burn out and you won't be able to start the engine.

Check that part out and make sure it's not fried.

Oh man, I totally forgot about this thread. I had so much going on, that I kind of put off my bike. I tried searching for this once and it seriously "vanished" or I was seriously out of my mind.

Anyway....thanks to Nina for reminding me of this thread, while telling me im a twat at the same time, so whatever.

So Yeah I put sea foam in her and I can notice a little difference.

I think the float may be sticking.

I took a rubber mallet and beat on the carb to see if the case was the float, it would possibly unstick itself, and after I did that she started right up. Maybe it needs a good carb cleaning/rebuild, but I am not a mechanic. I think motorcycle shops are crazy priced, like 70 bucks an hour or some shit, yeah?

Sounds like a rebuild would do it wonders. Doesn't take long and you can save that cash that you would spend taking it in, for beer money.

If you need help, let me know. I'm more than happy to talk you through it. I think you will be surprised to find that you actually have more mechanical skills than you give yourself credit for.

I am a pretty fast learner. I knew nothing about cycles before I got this baby, and I have started to learn a lot. I have yet to tackle something big like taking apart the carb, but I am sure your right, a rebuild would do it wonders! I actually just did the points on her, and I did a decent job I thought. It would be cool to be walked through on it as I have no idea what to do. Extra beer money ALWAYS wins!! Thanks a mill
