Gibson Marauder... Oppinions...Im looking for one.

1
Ive been looking to pick up a Marauder for awhile. I think Im going to finally bite the bullet and do it.

Im looking for one with the rotary knob... Any idea where i can find one? I was checking on ebay and I saw 2. One was a 75 with toggle, and the other was a 76 with the finish removed... I will keep looking..

Whats the going rate for these guitars... I see them from $700 US to $1000 US on ebay. Is that about right or a rip off.

If you know of any people who have one for sale please PM me.

Thanks

As far as I can tell I'm one of the few that really likes Marauders and S-1s. I hear so much shit talked about these guitars, but I think they sound and play great. I really like the Bill Lawrence pickups.

There happens to be a very nice one available locally for $400 without a case, rotary knob. If you're interested PM me and maybe we can figure something out.

I don't think you should pay more than $600 for a very good one with a case, but everything's gone up.

You are talking about a Custom here, not a lower-level model like the Marauder.

Guitars ate very subjective, and it seems like everyone who owns a Norlin has "the one". I'm not saying they can't be good, just that on average what I have held seems to be less consistent.

I like them too. Not like, the most awesome guitar ever but they are cool for what they are. They are hard to keep in tune, they really are.

When they pop up on Craigs around here they go for under 500. I wouldn't buy one for more than that because you could get an L6-S for around 4 or 500, 6 at the most and they are similar in feel and sound but a much better guitar all around. I should not have sold mine. That dude got a steal as they've doubled in price since then. I still made money off it but it was a real sweet guitar.
