Okay.

I am certainly going to repeat things that other people have said, however, this doesn't matter.

My list thus far includes:

James Brown
Muddy Waters
Bo Diddley
Lightnin' Hopkins...ok, a lot of soul and blues and gospel in general
Fried Fuckin' Chicken
Skynyrd (fuck you)
Big Star
Certain types of jangle pop (early R.E.M., Reckoning in particular)
William Faulkner (even though I'm still no fan of Absalom, Absalom, The Sound and the Fury is one of the great literary achievements of the 20th century)
Mark Twain
Flannery O'Connor


...and I am sure there are others. I'll probably think of more sometime soon.
