You know that band Metallica worships.
Despite the fact that I am not much of a Metallica fan or of much "old-school" heavy metal, I have to say that the Lightning to the Nations album is actually really good. Those riffs are killer!
Not Crap, but with a waffle factor for being unsure about the rest of their material, which common opinion says is mediocre. And for influencing Metallica (I prefer the originals over their covers).

2Not crap from their first album. It's the only NWOBHM I can stand. I can see a lot of thrash that came after it springing from this. Metallica's cover of Am I Evil is better than the original, though.

Am I Evil maybe.
But I don't like their version of The Prince. Something about his vocals doesn't sit right with the song I find.

4I don't remember their version of the Prince. It's strange.

5"Lightning" is flawless.
Some of you might also dig Holocaust's "The Nightcomers".

6Not Crap
I prefer the originals to Metallica's versions, mostly due to the vocals though. Seems the older I get, the less I wanna hear James Hetfield sing.
Cream of the NWOBHM crop, along with Tank, Angel Witch, Witchfinder General, Girlschool, and The Tygers Of Pan Tang.
