A year ago i found them to be boring and pointless avant post rock bullshit. But something has happened in the last few months and I can't seem to get enough.... NOT CRAP

I discovered this band about half a year ago. I could definatly see why people could call them "boring and pointless avant post rock" but since this is a scene I'm really not into, I can't very well tell what is cliche or breakthrough. I really enjoy this band, leaving it on for background music when I'm busy. My favorites are Two Sides Of Myself, Golden State Overnight, and Wheel Within A Wheel. So, Not Crap.

The first track on "from bone to satellite is"a stellar morricone
ripoff. the rest a the album meanders a bit much. i gotta be
honest i enjoyed them a lot more when i smoked pot.
I just recently met the guy who played most of the guitar on
the first tarentel record at the Casbah (local hipster venue.)
he is now playing keyboards in Pinback.

Oh yeah, Strange Attractors of off From Bone To Satellite is one of the best.

Oh yeah, my brother used to play one by Pieczonka a few years ago. Really fast piano pieces are usually not crap.

i didn't care for much else that i heard.

As far as the new bloc of 'avant' ambient post-rock outfits go, they are the not crappiest that I've found. Their catalouge is huge (probably too huge), and within it there are some awesome concoctions of sound, Golden State Overnight comes to mind (the song is a masterpiece of sorts). But those finer moments are thinly spread across a discogrophy that is too often fond of the meandering and the aimless. But, they still get props for their bravado.

Because of this disparity of quality in their output. I'd recommend that anyone interested downloads the lot of their free podcasts first.
