Do I need to play Silent Hill before Silent Hill 2?

No problem! Silent Hill 1 and 2 are unrelated. I don't think you'd need to play through the first one to understand the second. The original Silent Hill is a wonderful game, though.

Silent Hill 3 is pretty much a direct sequel to the first game, however.

Also, now that I'm in front of my games...

I second the R-Type suggestion. I assume Red Square was talkin' about R-Type Final, a brutal, excellent shooting game. You can also get R-Type 1 and 2 on a single PS1 disc called R-Types.

Okami, Viewtiful Joe, and Viewtiful Joe 2, by the same team that did God Hand, are very much worth playing. Okami has an art style that is unique to video games, and the Viewtiful Joe games are among the best 2-D action games out there.

Incidentally, since you can play original PlayStation games, I cannot recommend Castlevania: Symphony of the Night enough. It is just about untouchable.

I forgot to mention Killer 7, which I also cannot recommend enough.

Okay, enough out of me!

that's the one!

the single coolest thing about it is that you get to collect well over a hundred different ships to play as...it seriously ups the replayability factor exponentially...also different levels for different ships!

currently i am playing Age Of Empires 3...very pretty game...i intend to buy the expansion packs for it...

I'm 6/80ths the way to #1.

For me, this game is simply too big. I enjoyed it a lot, but would have liked to have seen a quicker way of getting from a to b. I also think that there should have been more missions involving The Truth.

I'm still playing the shit out of Pro Ev 2008 on the PS2. I will be buying a PS3 in the next couple of months. Call of Duty and Metal Gear Solid are excellent on it. Also, the new James Bond game (which uses the COD4 game engine) looks great.

I've drawn out my enjoyment of this game for several years now. I recently resumed playing it, in anticipation of a GTA IV release for PC. There's just so much to do in that GTA:SA world. It's nothing short of amazing. And that reggae station on the radio is so fucking good. In fact, most of the music in that game is incredible, with the exception of the awful alt-rock station. I could live the rest of my life without hearing that stupid Rage Against The Machine song ever again.

I really hope GTA IV: Liberty City Stories will run just as well under Wine.
