Pacers look like a slightly bloated Honda '88 Civic. Pacers did not have safety issues. I don't know where you get that from, one thing they did have was a very low drag coefficient due to the super-cool looking aerodynamic design.

I have a black Escort ZX2. It's always fucking hot and I never replaced the condensor, don't care for A/C in a car.

Besides, it's just really fucking cool looking.

In an accident, that glass bubble in the back would sometimes shatter.

And yeah, the air conditioner was seriously underpowered. That car would be like an oven in the summer, even when driving down the highway.

I hated riding in that fucking thing.

My aunt used to have one of those in the early '80s.

The AMC Pacer was one of the least safe production cars ever made for the American market. Ranks down there with the Ford Pinto. Plus, that fucker got really hot in the summertime because it acted like a greenhouse and was equipped with a piece-of-shit air conditioner.

your aunt wasn't cool enough to go with the gremlin?

In the 1970s, American Motors was a struggling company. Its management decided to take a risk and try something all-new. In Project Amigo, The First Wide Small Car was conceived with no legacy, featuring a body style not seen before, using the latest technology, and exceeding upcoming safety regulations.

A friend in High School had the Gremlin X Levi's Edition complete with denimette upholstery. It was purple. Excellent car.
