The first thing that came to mind when I read that kid's spiel was, "I wonder what someone like Dostoyevsky would have to say about all this," wishing of course that he was still alive to write a book about it (w/o the heavy-handed religious sermonizing).

So, while using google to spellcheck "Smerdyakov" (from Brothers Karamzov) I came across an astute analysis of this character that I thought was strangely fitting after reading the internet trolls article: SPOILER ALERT, for the plot of Karamazov.
