Synthesizer Music Makers: Stevie Wonder vs. Kraftwerk

2
i love Stevie Wonder, but i gotta go with Kraftwerk on this one...his best stuff could easily compete with Kraftwerk, but his ratio of greatness isn't the highest...and that's even when he was good...Kraftwerk at their worst came nowhere near "I Just Called to Say I Love You"...and probably Radioactivity is better than anything Stevie did...

Not to piss you off or anything, but you must be doing drugs if you think Radio-Activity is better than Songs In The Key of Life.
Life...life...I know it's got its ups and downs.

mmm, drugs.

I mean, I agree with him. Stevie's got soul, which Kraftwerk notably do not, but they do rock the synths.

i agree with this but also find a bit of fault with it...

stevie may have had soul but that's not what Kraftwerk were about...they were intentionally robotic but also emoted very well in that manner...

Kraftwerk really experimented and took synths in a different but obvious way but took it to the extreme as far as that futuristic iciness is concerned and made it work for them...being german also helped...

they did something that few were really doing at that time...
