I'm going to go with Raise by Swervedriver.

It's an amazing guitar record. Has a little bit of everything in there really. The drums are good, the bass is good, but it's really the guitars that stand out on that album. The playing is exemplary, without being a wankfest.

I don't think any of their other albums are nearly as good.

There are a lot of other great guitar albums out there as well. I'll also throw in Come's Eleven, Eleven, and Dinosaur Jr's You're Living All Over Me, Funhouse by the Stooges, Chest by the Nels Cline Trio, Marquee Moon by Television.

...but for some reason when I think "guitar album" I think of Raise.

I know a lot of these have been listed already:

AC/DC "Highway to Hell" and "Back in Black"
Cheap Trick "Heaven Tonight"
Led Zeppelin -pretty much everything, but especially "Physical Graffiti," "Houses of the Holy," and "Presence"
The Stooges "Raw Power"
Television "Marquee Moon"
The Heartbreakers "L.A.M.F."
Neil Young and Crazy Horse "Everybody Knows This is Nowhere"
Roky Erickson "The Evil One"
I also really love the tone on the first B-52's album.

Some more current records with good guitar sounds:

Queens of the Stone Age "Lullabies to Paralyze"

Most Rocket From the Crypt albums. Actually, anything John Reis has touched sounds golden to me as far as guitar tones are concerned.

Both Hoover records.

That Rye Coalition stuff recorded at Electrical has amazing guitar tones all over it.
