dude, I backslid on the issue like 2 posts later when I saw the picture.
I don't know who the woman was in the other picture I saw

Yeah, I really pay attention.

But to be fair to John Edwards, his wife has cancer and is overweight. I mean, what's a playa to do, right dawg?

I apologize for not being more forthcoming. Hello, I'm Sir Charles Barkley.

It's not that he did it, it's that he was stupid, impulsive and arrogant enough to do it when the eyes of the world are upon him. Real dumb move from someone who wants a job where real dumb moves can cause absolute disaster for scores of people.

So if he did get the nomination, guess what? He just handed the presidency to the fucking republicans. Complete moron, should be thrown to the curb by the party.

Agreed 100%.

Cheating, whatever, it's stupid, selfish, and cruel but people are stupid, selfish, and cruel sometimes.

To do it in that environment is breathtakingly self-centered and insulting to a lot more people than 'just' his wife.

We already did this once with Bill Clinton, who at least was a successful president into term 2 before he got truly caught.

If this happened to Obama, he'd lose every state to McCain, and so would have Edwards.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out. McCain is basically a documented adulterer, but he's been married to his sidepiece for decades now.

I do like the phrase he used, "99% honest," in describing his initial denials. That's one for the ages. 99% honest. Nice.

It's nice that all these people fucking around on their spouses are the staunchest defenders of the sanctity of marriage, isn't it? If homosexuals were allowed to marry, that institution of marriage would just fall apart instead of being a noble act of commitment and devotion between a man and a woman.

I wouldn't worry, he asked his imaginary friend for "forgiveness"...

Maybe we should force people to read Nietzsche.

i agree with the two of youns. i wish the american political landscape didn't even have this stupid family/moral dimension, but under the circumstances it is a reality that politicians have to deal with. if they choose to campaign on their marriages & wives, then they deserve to be judged on whether their self-portayal is accurate.

on top of that:

in 1999, referring to the clinton scandal, jr. senator john edwards wrote:I think this President has shown a remarkable disrespect for his office, for the moral dimensions of leadership, for his friends, for his wife, for his precious daughter. It is breathtaking to me the level to which that disrespect has risen.

pretty stupid to have witnessed the possible consequences & still not have been able to resist.

lastly, i don't want people who think they can do no wrong running anything.
