From the sound of it, the kid was treating him like he was something in a store. "Man, check out this thing I found--it's awesome."
It's pretty lame. I'd never treat anyone like that, even if I'd never react violently to such treatment.
It's not for me to say to someone I do not know at all, "Your look is soooooo awesome."
And it would not be for me to hear such a thing from someone I do not know. Get away from me! Don't tell me I have a "look!" The whole point of having a look is not to have a look, for fuck's sake!
Saying "you look great," this is a much different thing than "you have a great look."
