Anybody know if Shellac will be playing any new material at the upcoming shows.

3i'd guess that most of the songs that they'll play will have been written in the last ten years... but that's just my intuition speaking.
and i know they don't take requests, but it would really make my day if they'd play Rambler Song on the 15th. furthermore (and i know i'm pushing my luck on this one), i maintain that shellac covering cake's "she's going the distance" would rock heartily. again, all aforementioned songs are ten years young or better.

4The past couple shows they've played in the Illinois vicinity (I'm thinking De Kalb and Collinsville) had at least 3 "new" (i.e. non-album) songs?
Bob or Steve may correct me, but I've never heard the radio song ("Can You hear me now") or the pants song ("I Was Born With Pants On...") on record.
They also did an instrumental at both shows I've never heard.
I think a better question would be, are the sets going to be different at each show? Not the same exact order of songs on Friday as there will be on Sunday? That would kinda bum me out since I'm going to all the Chicago shows except the Noon jammy. That's just me though, but at the same time, I'm just be psyched to see three shellac shows in one year!

We never have a set list and so have probably never played the same set in the past 13 years. We keep a big master list of all the songs we know how to play on stage. But it's not a set list.
So, although I guess I can't guarantee it, there's a pretty good chance that the sets will all be different.
As for new songs: we will be playing songs that aren't on any records. Maybe up to 8, depending on how things go. But we have played most of these live before.

7Okay, Fugazi, whatever you say. That sounds fugawesome. Are we not allowed to mosh/dance/have fun either?
Andrew
i, for one, fully intend to crip walk during "My Black Ass," and do the Macarena to "The Squirrel Song."
i'm sorry, but i really have to side with fugazi on the moshing thing. i'm 5'6" and 115 pounds: i get clobbered if people start moshing, and i hate it. dancing is fine, just without violent contact. just my opinion...

Oh yes... can't attend a rock show unless the lighting is killer... much more important than the music being played, imo.
Mmmmmmm... shellac hoodies... very stylish.

9How about we just get those little helmets from the '60s with the spinning "fire engine" lights on them? That'd be kinda neat.
