I paid $600 for it in '98. I cry when I think about how much it'd cost me to replace it now.

I got one on eBay for $850, dead mint, maybe two years ago, but mine was a '78. Older is maybe better with the Marshalls. You could probably get one today for $650 or $700 if the cabinet is pretty beat up and it's had a hole or two drilled in it.

The prices on eBay seem to be low lately, what with people not having the monies and whatnot. If you've got the monies, this is probably a good time to replace it.

My buddy's got an '84 JCM800 2204, which is essentially the same amp, but his was slightly modded by Lee Jackson. He wants $900, I think. If you want to get in touch with him, PM me.

In 1994 I had the chance to pick up a Mellotron for $400. Found it in the Tradin' Times. It was owned by an old woman who knew nothing about it. I had visions of having John Paul Jones over for tea and a jam secession.

I decided it was too heavy and temperamental to purchase.

Oy.
In retrospect, I should have stepped off the stage and utter-kicked Mrs. O'Leary's cow.

Thanks for the tip. I just bought a Bassman, so perhaps now's not the time.

Some time next year I'm going to buy some kind of 50W EL34 head. Probably a Ceriatone 2204 clone a Traynor Bassmaster if I can find a stupid deal on it.

Back on track:

I slightly regret selling my 4x12, but as long as electric guitar equipment is being made, I'll be able to buy a 4x12 with Vintage 30's.

I don't at all regret selling my Sovtek Mig-60. Great sounding amp, when it worked. Which wasn't often.

I'm just realizing all the deals I passed on and am kicking myself.

silverface bassman, $100...didn't have the cash.

Harmony Rocket (2 pickups), $90 ...thought I wouldn't use it.

Gibson explorer bass, $300, didn't really play bass in a band at the time

Currently a Yamaha sgb2000, or whatever they're called, sitting at a pawn shop near my house for $350...one chip, one bad tuner...I feel like I should go buy it, but i just bought another house, an those things are expensive.
No one is paying you to sit on that bed and cry.
