I am in Soprano 1A Section 1. I hate myself for bringing my huge Fender stack but at least it sounds awesome. Quite an experience practicing in a huge church. I guess I am thankful I am a jew because I felt bad after everytime I cursed in the church.

It was also quite interesting to see the differences between everyone in how they understood the music. There were about 5-10 people constantly asking questions about the music and the questions were such that they gave the impression that they had never played this type of music before and were not familiar with any kind of improvisitional performances. I on the other hand, am all about improv.

Also, someone from one of the tenor sections came up to watch the end of the soprano practice and said our section was the "Angelic" section because the tenor parts were much darker and heavier.

Rhys was very funny to meet too. I was walking in my huge amp and he said to me, "you are playing that amp in the sopranos?? Awesome very cool".

I wonder if I will be able to meet Manuel Gottching Friday somehow. Also heard a rumor that Thurston Moore is going to be playing in the performance but won't be practicing at all. Colin from USAISAMONSTER is a soprano guitarist. Very cool.

And i got to play one guy's travis bean. way nicer than my Kramer DMZ2000 aluminum neck.

If anybody in the immediate area was waffling on going to this, let me say that this is 100% not crap, no waffles.

Seriously.

Do. Not. Miss.

Also, feel free to come over and say hello at rehearsal. I'm not going to bite you.

You know, I found out about this performance close to a month ago, having never heard of Rhys Chatham or anyone else on the bill, and thought, "Wow, I will definitely go to this, this looks awesome." I had no idea about the PRF connection until just now.

I will definitely be there Friday. My cousin is coming here from Albuquerque today and he also wants to see it.

Salut, PRF awesome people!

Another thing I didn't realize til yesterday as that each section surrounding the audience (1-4) will have sopranos, altos and tenors all playing different parts so its a trual antiphonal piece. Very very cool. I am also 100% certain that it will be way cooler to hear in the audience than as a performer as we cannot hear every part, especially when playing.

I also heard rumors its being recorded for a possible release. Obviously though, 200 guitars arent being individually mic'd and there is no PA. NO ONE SHOULD MISS THIS PERFORMANCE. ITS FREE.

If you pay for my flight, I will be delighted to attend this free event!

If you PM me your phone number, I can have someone call you, and be one of those annoying people:

"GUESS WHERE I AM???????!!!!!!"

and hold the phone up for an hour while we play.

I have been guilty of this in the past.

I like to think of it as sharing the experience.

Thanks for telling me it is annoying, burun. (sobs...)
