The Canadian men have gotten gold only once since the '50s anyway, and didn't even medal in '06. The Canadian women's team, unequivocally the best female hockey players in the world, are a different story.

Summer Olympics: 242 medals
Winter Olympics: 119 medals.


There are fewer Winter sports than Summer sports, and there have been fewer Winter Olympics. Canada ranks 17th in total Summer medals, and 7th in total Winter medals.

I always keep tabs on India's performance, which is both easy and surprising. With more than a billion people, you'd think that we (?) would field a better squad. As it is, only Abhinav Bindhra's gold in 10m Air Rifle Shooting is keeping us out of Canada territory.
