i just bought one of these on ebay after hearing so many good reviews and i must say it is probably the most fun guitar ive ever played. great playing, great low action, chunky neck and some of the best bluesy tones ive heard outside of super expensive guitars. i cant believe how great they are. anyone else got one?

I've had one of the H19 Silhouettes for over a decade. I love this guitar.



Mine is natural finish, which you don't really see (very possibly refinished that way). I agree, it plays really well and it sounds great. The big, thick neck fits very comfortably. The pickups in it are Dearmonds, they seem like a cross between P90s and Filtertrons.

Mine never came with the trem bar (or 3 of the 4 tiny vol/tone knobs), but I can still do some vibrato with the arm stub when necessary. That entire tremolo/bridge contraption was made by Hagstrom, and despite being a bitch to adjust the saddles, it works great and stays in tune really well.

This guitar has also made me a sucker for anything with block fret markers.

While not solid-body guitars, I've got 2 Harmony semi-hollows that I'm never giving-up:
1964-ish, 3-pickup H78 with a Bigsby
and
1961-ish Rocket that I bought and re-finished in silver sparkle.

Both have the DeArmond Pickups, which kick ass. The tone might not be for everyone, but I think it's sweet through my Fender amps. The old hollow bodies feed-back great. The H78 plays well with .011's, and the Rocket plays pretty good after several adjustments and a intonating nut.

Totally agree- The Harmony hollowbodys are great. The H78 is kick ass....Right now I have an H64 like this one that I am digging:



It also has the dearmond pickups. With the bigsby it's sometimes a challenge to stay in tune, but that's a bigsby for ya. I find myself playing this guitar most of the time. Plus it only weighs like 5 pounds.

I'm redoing a 70's Kawai hollow body right now that is promising.

I had a Harmony solidbody for a while as a kid and it had a neck like a softball bat.

I have a ton of Harmony built guitars, but after a few months of bidding on Bobcats, I haven't netted one yet. Soup said he has one he hates - me want it.

Bobcats are really awesome guitars. Little, well built, solid and just fun as fuck to jack around and maul.

I'm also looking for a Harmony brand LP copy.

This one's[/url] at the music-go-wrong in Colorado for $299...it's been there a while...looks like a slightly cheaper version of the regular bobkat
