I am sorry if any nascar fans lurk around these parts but shit.......

I just do not understand the appeal of this event.
You have cars going around super fast, you can not see them very well, going on a giant circle for an hour or more. It seems the mentality that is required to enjoy this type of sport is very low on the intelligence scale.
I just think about everyone who I see that is wearing nascar anything, and they are obviously from a two bit whore who's only qualification to being a mother is having a working vagina and uterus. Luck to have finished elementary school and very lucky to be out of a trailer park, or a trash ass neighborhood, where the meth houses resemble a trailer once you put wheels on them. Also, going to walmart is a day out on the town for them. Now don't get me wrong, I have lived in mobile homes in my life and I am not saying anyone who lives in mobile homes is trashy by any means, there are actually some super nice mobile homes, with some super nice living people. On top of that, I am not saying everyone who enjoys nascar is a trashy SOB. The people I have met who enjoy nascar and are wearing nascar apparel,99 percent of them are this way.

You have not lived until you experience drinking rubber bits from your $9 Budweiser as the giant sun burnt sweaty weirdo sitting next to you is fumbling with 6 different scanners trying to keep up with the track spotters communications with his favorite drivers, which is an impossible task for him because he is too busy crying about the loss of the great #8.

NASCAR, I am not a fan, plus, most of your fans smell funny.

Crap.

All I'm gonna say is yeah, it seems simplistic, and there are a lot of rednecks who like it, but it does have a rich history, and there are a lot of different challenges that circle tracks bring... banking, track temperature, etc etc have bearing on how cars handle and grip, and it's definitely challenging to be three wide going 150+ MPH and trying to gain position.

Now, in recent years, car design and restrictor plates have put a damper on real competition and the entire sport has gotten so commercialized that I really have lost interest. Just not fun to watch anymore, it was more interesting when it was more low-key. And I've been to a couple of races, and yeah, it is a little boring after a couple of hours, but when the green goes down, it's always really cool when the cars roar by the first few times.

Road courses and smaller tri-ovals can be more exciting, larger tracks like Talladega tend to be long hauls, not much position change, and fewer wrecks.

It's not for everyone, and drag racing is more immediate and interesting. IMO, NASCAR is kind of like the baseball of auto racing... something that's more interesting on TV and in some cases can be uninteresting.
