Movie: American History X

One day in 1999 I was walking towards a cafe in Seattle called the Bauhaus. As I approached it I noticed a familiar looking girl sitting at an outside table, looking at me. When I returned her gaze I apparently held it a second too long because she then began glaring hostilely. I gave her what I think was a puzzled angry look and kept walking. I remember thinking "Those lips, those eyes...I know I know her from somewhere...what the fuck was her problem...?" At the time I assumed she looked familiar because I knew her from a social situation somewhere.

A day, a week ? later, it's November 30th. I promised my band of the time that I would audio tape the WTO riots for use in some later sound experimentation projects. Plus I wanted to see what was going to happen. Chaos, smoke, screaming, megaphones, riot police, the whole schmeer. Things were getting too dangerous and crazy so me and a crowd began to straggle away from downtown Seattle. I had also been taking pictures with my crummy little Mac camera. A young punk chick appeared at my side and began asking me about my camera and we struck up a conversation. As we were talking I noticed we were walking towards the Bauhaus cafe. I looked over and there was the girl who glared at me the other day. Now she was smiling intensely at me, almost grinning insanely. She did this physical gesture thing where she opened and closed her legs while looking at me. I grin back but I'm completely unnerved. She has a really intense stare. Punk chick is still talking to me, so I redivert my attention back to her. We walk on past the cafe. Me and punk girl exchange e-mail addresses and go our seperate ways.

Some time later I was watching that movie The Craft about the teenage witches, and I realized with a start that the actress in this movie is the same as the intense girl at the cafe. She must have been in town to watch a real riot instead of some fake made-up movie riot.

Anyway, that's my story. Big woop. Who knows how much I might have misinterpreted the whole thing.

Also, I did score later that evening with an asian girl I knew. And my band eventually recorded a track over the sounds of the WTO riots...backwards.
