Most of the employers I've had would not extend the same type of courtesy toward me. The exception is my current (and 10 years running) employer. If you are sticking with UofC make sure it not JUST because you don't want to pull a dick move.

Kerble is right. Tell Evanston that they were your first choice and explain the whole situation. You will look good for sticking with a decision and will have the nuts on another opening.

My wife's friend moved here from DC a few weeks ago with her boyfriend. He just told her he's out of here, headed back to DC.
Chicago is much too violent he says.

So yeah, if anyone needs a place to live she's gonna need a roommate and if anyone needs a girlfriend I'm sure she'll be in the market for that shortly, if not immediately as well.
