I like it. what do you mean "density"? volume, I am assuming as far as vocals go?

I like how he sings soft, he does it well, very well actually, and his voice does not over power the music which most acoustic people do.

So far this decade has made me hate the acoustic guitar. I know there is still loud and noisy rock music being made by bands better than this folk-crap, I just seem to have issues with its ever-present presence. Same with glitchy electronic pop music and look-at-me-I'm-so sincere dance pap made by collegiate twits who scour torrents looking for old-school legends to rape. Now that I think about it, I hate music.

You sound like a Frank Zappa fan.

Seriously, I understand what you're talking about, though. Acoustic music does not have to mean "lack of balls" and "forced quirkiness."

I have imagined making an album recently which would be predominantly acoustic. It wouldn't sound like that.

Don't get the impression that I don't like quirky, acoustic, nonaggressive music. I love a good chunk of Syd Barrett's solo stuff, for instance. What I really don't like is preciousness, which is probably what turns me off to, say, Marc Bolan's acoustic stuff with Tyrannosaurus Rex, which is probably a bigger influence on freak-folk than just about anybody has admitted.

Devendra himself? The guy seems pretty talented. He's just not really for me, as far as I can tell at the moment.

Life...life...I know it's got its ups and downs.
