Band: Porn (The Men Of)

I fucking adore the record they put out on Man’s Ruin years ago and like the newer one on Small Stone. However live they are only batting .500 in my book. Both times was at the High Noon Saloon in Madison opening for the Melvins/Big Business. The set they played two or three years ago was a four piece with Dale Crover on drums and it was killer dirgy, feedback-laden pyschadelic doom metal. When they played my town at the beginning of this month it was only Tim Moss fucking around with a guitar and a keyboard and Dale Crover going nuts on the drums. It lasted less than 15 minutes, but totally came off as some sort of joke, noise, hackneyed bullshit. A real disappointment.

Overall they still get a strong NC from this poster despite self-indulgent, boring-ass set I witnessed a couple weeks ago.
