Chris Bell, I Am The Cosmos
It's lucky I was in such a great mood. Otherwise, I think I'd be crying my eyes out.
Christ, the guy sounds like he's about to go attempt suicide. Putting that kind of delivery against such brilliant, sad, catchy music is absolutely perverse. I realized this sounds like something an emo fan would write. Fuck that. Emo could never come within a thousand miles of this record.
On that note, I need to go put on something that won't make me feel depressed.
(Edit: Then, I went and put on Third/Sister Lovers instead. What am I, a glutton for punishment? It is true, though, that I never noticed how unbelievably beautiful and pained "Nightime" is before. I think it got lost all among the other acoustic/strings sob-your-eyes-out songs on Side 2, which is a problem with Third - too many similar songs in a row on Side 2. So now I'm listening to Goat and I feel so much better.)
Life...life...I know it's got its ups and downs.
