Wasn't sure where to put this, but here goes...I'm supposed to write a research paper about a (living) person who has been successful in the career that I am interested in pursuing. I'd love to do my paper on Mr. Albini, but the catch is that I have to cite at least one peer-reviewed, academic journal article that is either written by him or mentions him. Now, I've spent the better part of the last two hours on this and could not find anything, so I figured I should post here in case anyone should have info that will help me out.Failing this, I'd love if someone had some suggestions of other professionals in the field of audio engineering that I should do my paper on if Steve is not an option. George Massenburg would be a good candidate surely? Not only for someone who makes records but for his research and development into electronics and a million other things relating to the craft.

Steve and sail, according to Google Scholar (a decent and free way of looking for citations) "The Problem with Music" has been cited 42 times in publications ranging from the Journal of Political Economy to Popular Music and Society. Perhaps that satisfies the instructor's conditions?Not sure how much has been written on Walter Sear, but he would be a fun subject.

Have you tried searching Steve on Lexis Nexus? You can set the parameters to look for Academic Journals and see what comes up. Any large public or academic library should have a copy of the database available.

George Massenburg published the first description of a parametric equalizer, now commonplace in audio equipment. I think it was in Journal of the Audio Engineering Society, some time in 1968 but I'm not sure.Pretty sure I've never been cited in anything. I used to date a girl who's dad's Erdös number was 1 though. Maybe that counts for something.

George Massenberg has proven to be as difficult to research as Steve, but for a different reason. I need at least two published quotes from other professionals praising his work. The most I can find is George praising other people :pMore stuff needs to be written on important audio engineers.

As an update on this, I did in fact find an academic article that included mention of Steve. It was in an edition of Notes from this year, an article called A Guide To Essential American Indie Rock (1980 “2005).
