I've got a good news for every MK012 users on toms. Here in europe we can have good contact with Oktava online (Official dealer for EU) so I've asked them 4 or 5 times in the last 2 years to build swivel joint for their MK012....Guess what?Swivel joints will be available in the end of june for about 50 euros. If you can't get it in the US, I'll be very Happy to order hundreds of these for you guys.

I've worked some recently at Studio G for Joel Hamilton and he's using the MC012 on toms. I've tried it before with good results but have been using RODE NTK's on toms frequently. I had an NTK in a three mic set-up some months back. The NTK was over the drummers right shoulder and the floor tom sounded great, but the rest of the kit was a wash. So now I just use the NTK on toms. You can find them pretty cheap and can use a shure pad if the outputs too hot coming in.

Wouldn't this be like saying an SM57 is a bad snare mic?I'm also wondering which mod of the 57 you guys are talking about.Well, I think that people here don't like 57's on snares. The mod they talk about is removing the transformer from the 57, supposed to make it sound better.
