As a user/consumer, it brings me joy when I follow a link to a bands site that is powered by bandcamp.+1

I'll give another positive shoutout to Bandcamp!! Have a page, and used it to order the new Solex/Crisitna Martinez/John Spencer thing, totally great. When they do 24 bit, it'll be even better.

The only experience I've had with Bandcamp is buying the Black Cock record. Painless, easy.I wish more bands would go digital. From my list of bands I've found from music blogs - Ex Wives, Drunkdriver, Pygmy Shrews, Twin Stumps - all releases on vinyl. If all those bands had a BUY FROM BANDCAMP link, I would have.Yeah, it is hard for bands to make a living but there are still enough people like me who are willing to shell out a little beer/heroin/SSBBW-porn money for musicians. Or a band might even use that money to offset some of their costs. I used to buy these pure nickel strings - $30 a set. I'd change them for every show. In fact, the whole band was about the amazing tone these strings could generate. Give me $30 string money and I'd play in a toilet, and I mean a really seedy one with smears and old fits. Fuck they were great strings... But I digress.Its cool that bands are embracing vinyl releases. As an object, its superior. But that object costs about as much to ship to Australia as it does to buy and runs the very real risk of being warped, dinged, and pissed on by the postal service. As a band it makes sense to give people as many opportunities to give you money as possible.
