Also, for anybody who has heard Fight, the live one with Krist Novoselic playing bass, how is it?Local record store has these in stock and I can't decide which to buy next.(come to think of it, I think they also had Public Flipper Limited on vinyl at this store, I can't remember.)probably Gone Fishin', then Blow'n Chunks, then Public Flipper Limited.Save the best for last.
Life...life...I know it's got its ups and downs.

Flipper is beyond great. Everytime I'm driving around town and (I Saw You) Shine comes on, it literally shapeshifts everyday jackoffs on the street into disgusting, inhuman, walking balls of shit.Generic is one of the few albums that has smacked me upside the head with it's poetic veracity (musically and lyrically), that I was forced to come to terms with how great it actually is whether or not I came into listening with a bias against it.The live version of Ever on Sex Bomb Baby! is so fucking good. I love when the band trudges on with the original version while Will Shatter is just going off on a stream-of-conscience spoken word throughout the duration of the song until it's interrupted by a fight.I need to give Gone Fishin' more attention then I've showed to it. I have all their records and Gone Fishin' has only been spun maybe three times. I'm gonna put it on now.I give this 1,000,000 NC votes.

have i said not crap yet? NOT FUCKIN CRAP. you will find no waffles here.favorite musical flipper moment-- the second verse of sacrifice on the blow n chunks live version. teds guitar drops out for a little while, and about when you here bruce say its a gravediggers song you here this distant whistle of feedback that gets louder and louder and then BOOM napalm puke guitar explosion. i'm pretty sure ted falconi is my hero at this point.

I think that's actually Bruce on "Ever."This post comes close to summarizing my feelings about Flipper. I will also add that Ted Falconi was, and still is, an incredible, unique and sadly underrated guitarist, and that no other band I know of had the unique power of being able to completely change the emotional tone of their material at will. This band could make "One By One" sound hilarious and funny and turn "Life" into a sick, sarcastic, hopeless, juvenile joke.

Without a doubt my favorite band of all time. Where would I be without these guys?SecondEdition wrote:I think that's actually Bruce on Ever. This post comes close to summarizing my feelings about Flipper. It's quite mind blowing.
