Normally I would drill the holes after the engraving process, but I was afraid of tearing up the finish on the large holes for the meters. I had to strip it, repaint and have them laser it again. Long story, but it was kind of a headache and they tried to put the blame on me. I've been happy with the work they've done for me up until now, but this experience really turned me off to using them again.

I started work on the neck for my acoustic this week.I found out that I m not totally shit at wood work “ which was my biggest fear in starting this thing. It is early days though.So far, I ve just taken the rough sawn Mahogany block and planed it square. Then made a cut for the neck/headstock scarf joint. And I ve planed the surface of the join. Next step “ glue!

I'll take some next week for sure. I was going to do it this week, but I then felt a little self conscious... I am the newbie in class getting excited about making block of wood straight and square!

Also the output is very distorted while in buzz time and clean when it isn't buzzing. It doesn't seem to react to physically touching it like other ground buzzes.If I get some time, I'll record it and post a little sample.

I love scotch briting anything.I've done a small amount of wood turning and it felt pretty comfortable. I guess most metal lathes I've seen have been CNC and they freak me out. I also knew someone that got scalped by one

like 4 years ago, I posted a bunch about a Jagmaster project I was doing, trying to put a 25.5 neck on one of the 24 inch model bodies. It was going to require redrilling the necks I had, in addition to probably redrilling and moving the bridge about 3/8, and I kinda put it on the back burner. I recently picked up a Mighty Mite tele neck to replace the uncomfortable neck on my squier tele custom, but it needs drilled, so in the interim, I decided to try the MIM strat neck I had forgotten was sitting around for the Jagmaster, and I love so the strat neck in the tele, so I think I'm leaving it that way.Since I need to drill the Mighty Mite neck anyways, I realize I might as well use it for the jagmaster, so that is my new project. My friend who shares my practice space has a drill press, so I'm hoping he'll help me drill the neck, and then I'll move onto figuring out the bridge. I pulled the strings off the saddle screws, thinking I may just barely get enough room to intonate the 25.5 neck by setting the saddles way back and maybe grinding a couple down by a mm or so... but I'm going to get the neck installed, and then worry about whether to move the bridge or not. I have some Fender tuners on the way from reverb.I also will have to put some sort of lacquer or finish on the neck too, so I'll have to figure out that whole process at some point.
