I've taken a few marathon road-trips in my day, New England to Columbia is quite a haul: all the way down the U.S., through all of Mexico and Central America, into South America. That is some heroic driving!

If memory serves me correctly he said drives because the question in the interview was in reference to owning a car. Perhaps the interview was from a few years ago.

I'm not questioning your integrity or your memory, I just find it nearly impossible to believe that someone (especially NC) drives from New England to the country of Columbia. That is a long, hard road (I'm not sure there's even a road that goes there which is accessible by a regular car, and I don't see Chomsky rolling in a Hummer).

That's like driving from Paris to Johannesburg.

I apologise, I live in a very small country that you can drive the length of in a day. I have no concept of driving long distances.

It might help the semantics of this discussion if things were spelled right. Colombia is the country. Columbia is the district.
Chalk that one up to a quiz in 7th grade World Studies class, where I got this question, you guessed it: wrong.
