Huh, so like a Sidecar with cinnamon and rum instead of cognac. Cool.

More Campari games? The Blood Orange.
2 parts gin
2 parts orange juice
1 part Campari
1 part dry vermouth (Noily Prat, seriously guys)
Shake with ice and strain. Good introductory Campari cocktail for wussy friends.

Exactly. I didn't have any cognac on hand, and consulted DrinkBoy for something that could use Cointreau. Turns out, we had rum, so why not? And yeah, very warming.

Traditional Champagne cocktail.

This can be made with varying qualities of sparkling wine and still tun out fine, but the constant must be quality cognac: don't even think about messing with any cheap shit. You will want to use less cognac with better wine.

Pour up to an inch (to taste) of cognac in your champagne flute.

ONE drop of Angostrua bitters on a sugar cube. Add to glass. Top up with the fizz.

There is nothing I know that will get you as rapidly and, more importantly, as pleasantly drunk as this drink*.

salut!

Haha. It was for 2 of us, but all within about 2 hours. I was a little stressed out and it was my buddy's 36th birthday.

I think the traditional traditional champagne cocktail skips the cognac and is heavier on the bitters, but that also sounds tasty.

But okay, if you're down with that you'd like the Seelbach Cocktail, which is old school as hell.

Take a champagne flute and add 7 dashes each of Angostura and Peychaud's bitters, and twist and twirl the champagne flute to coat the whole interior with the bitters. Discard the remainder, though really there should be enough in there to do a second flute, and why the fuck would you be drinking this alone?

Add 1 oz bourbon, 1/2 oz Cointreau, and fill with champagne.

My crew did these recently, and believe me it'll fuck you right up.

Great for a martini, though I usually like a little more flavor and bite. That drink sounds very similar to one I had at The Hudson in West Hollywood just this past weekend, but it had simple syrup and lime juice with no soda. Pretty damn good. The dominant flavor is definitely the cucumber juice!

Can't for the life of me remember where that idea came from, though. Google search brings up nothing.
