There are Chinese versions out there (left), as well as the Russian versions. A bit more from the xaudia blog... they made Mic of the Month a while back.Cheers! Stewart

my bx44 couldn't handle the low end of an upright bass with the proximity required. I used a fat head with a lundahl and I'm extremely happy with the soundsidenote: gefell m300s are awesome.

Cool, glad that's doing the trick for you. For me, at bridge position I still think the KSM44 set to figure 8 has been the one to beat, out of what I've gotten to use so far (including stock Fathead and other ribbons). Maybe it's just more idiot proof. Haven't received the Melodium yet, though.

Hey, I've got to give props here to zebra50, aka Xaudia ”1) the GEC he repaired for me took a rare hit on its way over,and he ate the shipping to get it fixed up and sent it back here (I live across the Atlantic from him) with a rewound transformer to boot, based on some reading he'd done, with no complaints at all. Back in my hands with no damage from transit, sounds nice. 2) got a transformer for the Melodium, 30-->600, and so far it's sounding really good. Thanks, Stewart.
