The particle reverb setting sounds great. Using it with modular synths mainly. Choruses sound nice on guitar.Yeah, I'll primarily be using it with synths. I can't imagine using it for guitar in a live setting unless you build a chain that's always on. First thing I did was build a "Strymon" chain. That saved me about a grand right there.

Alright, lessee here...Boss FZ-2 Hyper Fuzz: On fuzz I and II, it's great fuzz/distortion for stoner metal, obviously - when you're tuned down to C# or lower it sounds like Satan lighting up his pipe, e.g. Dopethrone, e.g. orgasmic. It's not so great when you're tuned to standard/drop-D on those modes, too muddy, but it's fantastic as a clean gain/EQ pedal. I have it set up so I can use it as a stompbox before the other distortion pedal I'm using, which somewhat counteracts the volume drop, and I can then use the EQ knobs to dial in as much bass or treble as I want, which means I can sound sludgy as all hell or absolutely ear-piercing.Boss DS-2 Turbo Distortion: I don't know why I bought this thing, probably because I liked Kurt Cobain's tone on In Utero. And it doesn't really sound like that. But I'm finding it surprisingly usable and worthwhile, especially considering that I hated the DS-1 I used to have. I usually use the FZ-2 in conjunction with this on Mode II - the "turbo" mode, which I think boosts mids - and with the EQ from the FZ-2, it sounds really brutal. But I can also use it on Mode I as a great shoegaze pedal, which proves that the delay (hooray for the Carbon Copy), the reverb and the guitar are more important to shoegaze than the distortion. On it's own, it sounds okay, but with other pedals going it sounds really fantastic. Odd how that works. Wish I could get rid of the volume drop, though, that's annoying. And I also do wish it sounded a bit thicker on Mode I than it does, closer to Nirvana's Bleach. It can sound somewhat fizzy alone, which can be a drag, although it does sound better than the DS-1 I used to have. Maybe that fizz is due to the single-coils, I'm not sure.Digitech Digiverb: It took some time to figure out how to use this effectively, since I've never used one of these things before - never put it first in the signal chain, it'll make everything into a blur, especially with distortion - but once I got the hang of it, it's proven very useful. The reverse reverb is great for shoegaze on a budget, especially once you find the right settings, and switching around the settings can give you great wet reverb sounds, which I'm fond of.Digitech Digidelay: Haven't really had a chance to experiment much with this yet but so far I like it. Really long delays and interesting effects abound. I like it more than the Boss digital delay pedals for sure, you can get nice super-delay effects like you'll hear on Deerhunter records (I think they use these pedals).Thinking about getting a chorus or another fuzz pedal. Maybe one of those new Fuzz Faces (which are great), or a DOD Classic Fuzz, or a Small Clone. I would like to buy a vintage PolyChorus but those things cost an arm and a leg. I'm turning into a bit of a pedalhead, after years of never really having anything other than the amp.
Life...life...I know it's got its ups and downs.

The digi-delay is a great all around workhorse delay with a few quirks in it.I used it in Death Dream on almost every song. Great for that splatter Bauhaus sound (mode 2-3), or Gang of 4 ping pong (mode 1-2). Mode 1 is a cool slap back sound which I use in the hifi from time to time. I never use the looper, or the mod delay but I am not looking to fill all of the space in the song.

Cloud CX335I got this stereo compressor for 100 on gumtree... apparently they're more commonly used to protect speakers in PA rigs, but it can do some fun squishy things on drums too. Has a pretty simple set of compressor controls, and a separate limiter knob as well. Made in Sheffield apparently.Beyer M88Now lives in my bass drum, preventing the cat from getting too comfortable. Sounds tasty.Soundcraft 200bHaving partially wired this up so far, it sounds rather different to the Alice 2008 that I was using previously (that's now become a submixer, feeding into two of the returns on the 200b, and also wired up so that I can track through the preamps if I want). I've now got a lot more upper midrange... and it's nice to have more than two aux sends. The EQs sound a little more aggressive than the Alice, this particular 200b has the swept mid version.
