2x15 cab (or 2 1x15s) recommendations for guitar and bass?

I'm thinking of getting a new cab. I'd really like to have an interchangeable rig for bass and guitar, but if that doesn't seem possible I guess I could just keep my 4x12 for guitar and have a 2x15 for bass.I'd really like to find a 2x15 that weighs like 100 lbs or under or a couple of lighter 1x15 cabs.I've searched a little on the topic but couldn't find much other than DIETZ DIETZ DIETZ DIETZ. Dietz cabs seem nice but I've never seen one for sale and I don't know of any clone builders.I've also looked into greenboy stuff and the dually looks nice but I'm not sure if the eminence 3015 speakers would sound ok with guitar.

And when you do find one they're incredibly expensive. There's one of those road ready 2x15s on my local craigslist but it seems like the dude only wants to sell off both the cab and a broken amp head. Not really sure I want something with a road case around it either cus there's no way I'm gonna be able to lug it up stairs easily alone. I think weight is my main deterrent. I can handle my 100 lb 4x12 fine but I can't easily grapple a slimmer box that weighs 30 lbs more.

You can get new ones from whatever they're called now (Dictator? Tyrant? Asshole?)I thought Dictator went out of business? Maybe they're Tyrant now. I don't know. All of those fancy wood stain custom cabs are too rich for my blood. I feel like the greenboy dually is the most I'd ever pay for a cab and that would be like $1000 max. I wish I could find one of those Trace Elliot 2x15s. I used to see them all the time for cheap-ish but now I never see them. I know old Peavey 2x15s are supposed to be good too but those are almost 200 lbs. It seems like I'm screwed and should just stick to my cruddy 4x12 and guitar.

the orange obc 15s and the old mesa 1x and 2x15s used the tl606 plans, so those are your easiest bet on finding the beloved Dietz outside of texas. if you have stairs then i would fuck off this whole idea of a 2x15 and get a pair of singles, unless you feel like skating down on the skid rail. that could actually be fun. those duallys are said to outperform just about everything whilst being lighter (thinner ply, neo mags) but I haven't had the opportunity to try one let alone comment on how it would handle guitar.and on a final note, seeing as though you're happy with your current set up for guitar, have you tried a bass 4x12? they're not the most efficient design, but can still push some air and sound pretty decent doing so

Yep, Delta Pro 15As are pretty close to EVs. I've used them in several cabs and they're great.Depending on the cab you might be able to keep 2 of the current guitar speakers and do a 2x12 x 2x12 X pattern thing (in series/parallel). Odds are the current 4x12 speakers aren't 8ohms, but it would be easy to get 2 guitar speakers for what one of these costs. Something like 2 12" Jensen Mod 70s and 2 Delta Pro 12As would give you a 280w 8ohm cab, enough for almost any bass head, certainly any guitar amp. The Deltas would give you the clean highs and lows (and projection) and the guitar speakers would give you the midrange breakup. It would only work if the cab had some depth and mass, but just throwing around ideas..

Also, this cab with an EVM 12L could probably satisfy most bassists, as long as you aren't Jah Wobble or playing at Jucifer volumes.TheMilford wrote:TheMilford wrote:TheMilford wrote:Finished and ready for a home ¦PRF Special:$475 loaded (Eminence or EVM)$375 unloadedPlus shipping from 11220https://www.facebook.com/DJGCabinetsStill available ¦ Will do this for $350 unloaded or $440 loaded.Seriously ¦ you guys are gonna make me do this?
