This isn't really about the Austerity Program but I'm looking at this pile of 300 CDs and it makes me willing to bend the rules a bit...Before we were the Austerity Program, AP bassist Thad and I were a more-deliberately metal band called Polonium. It started a little goofy but got very serious once we discovered Bolt Thrower and the Melvins.Over a period of 3-4 years we wrote a small pile of songs that weren't as complex as the Austerity Program stuff, at least in what we were trying to do. So even though it's all guitar/bass/drum machine, Polonium was always more about just going for power - less nuanced than our current band.I'll spare you the details and just say - I re-recorded the better half of the Polonium songs over the past few years. We're putting these out on CD (and name-your-price) download on April 8th.
