Kurt Vile is real good, and I recommend any of his past 3 albums if you want some non-angular melodic and boring music.

I'm enjoying his newest single Pretty Pimpin so far. its got an interesting groove to it and a nice simple major melody. he's someone i dont mind.

I have just had my first dose of Kurt Vile, taking in the recording of this year's 2019 Glastonbury festival (bbd tv license fee at work). Admittedly my post falls 3.5 years from the one just above but I am surprised at the prevailing lack of enthusiasm for his music. It is really stellar.

He s playiing Central Park Summerstage here in NYC (or maybe it already happened) with Dinosaur Jr and Cate Le Bon, and every time I see the bill for the show posted on buildings around the city, I am shocked at how gigantic his name is on it compared to DJr sand CLB s. What world are we living in? His musical partnership with Courtney Barnett makes a lot of sense to me. Well meaning people, very dull music.
