^ that band photo tho.You may have heard me gushing about that Magpies band...who you also may have seen a few years ago at the BBQ.They're the best people, and their old drummer (Who left Magpies but remains in the sparsely-active Best Westerns (one of the best real deal country / honky-tonk bands around right now.)He spearheaded this crazy archival vinyl music project called Long Time Comin' - Lost Sounds from the Treasure State. The first volume is out now, and covers years 1958-1969.Been super busy in China, but I'm sure it's TMidget approved. Pearl Jam's Jeff Ament has been a huge supporter of Montana shenanigans, building a skatepark, and putting the word out of this. When I was first getting into rock n roll thru my Mom and my Uncle Pat, I heard a rumor that one of my good friends, Mike Richter, had a brother that played in a rock n roll band. All we had in those days growing up in the forefront of nowhere was American Bandstand and Creem magazine, so the idea that 'one of us' was actually doing the impossible was almost unbelievable. On 'Long Time Comin,' Dave Martens has put my friend's brother on the cover and finally on acetate, finally releasing all of the long forgotten music being made in Montana garages in the '60s. Great work, Dave. - Jeff AmentAnyways, check the thing here. Radness : http://www.LostSoundsMontana.BigCartel.com
