Osborne isn't in his class politically.....I thought the exact opposite to this until Osborne's weaknesses were exposed. Its true that Cameron had years of cloak-and-dagger media and management experience, Osborne has just shown that he doesn't have anything close to that, his reputation as a bulldog was a fabrication.Osbourne has had mixed fortunes really, but has been blessed with a sub-par opposition. This isn't the first time things have unravelled for him post-budget, just the most spectacular. It's not like his ideas are always terrible, even: improved infrastructure in the north is genuinely needed. But his M.O. is short term triumphant expressions (delivering a surplus! growth! etc) but ultimately failure....who has the political stature to lead the Tories through a third election? It's just clowns and managers. Boris would be Trump Lite. I suppose Theresa May could do it, but as far as I can tell she's genuinely reviled on the local level even by Tory standards....shudder... Gove? Gove delivered on some genuinely bad ideas in Education. Typically such radical change would be skewered by the civil service, but he managed to get it through. I really don't want to think about what he could do to the country.
