though.

I can see where you'd get that idea.

<linusVP> Hey, which sports are you saying are more popular than soccer?
* waltermalling names a few sports, more leagues of these sports, and some other crap
<linusVP> Actually, those are not all sports! Some are leagues, and some are other crap! Also, here is a good children's book.
<waltermalling> LOL L053R!@@#!!!!!!oneoneone

You're right, linus is a real dick. Carry on.

Fortunately, apart from some bottle chucking and the aforementioned baseball bat incident, so far the Liverpool/Juve showdown has passed peacefully. (Liverpool won 0-0, incidently. Work that one out, Malling!)

For more info on football hooliganism, I refer you to "Kicker Conspiracy" by the mighty Fall.

Presumably you're not talking about this one particular game, rather some league in which the two teams were competing, and Liverpool had more points and made it through.

Winning with 0 goals just doesn't sound very cool, but hey, whatever works...

0-0, huh? that sounds like an awesome game!

S: The game was played over two legs, with the first leg being a 2-1 victory to Liverpool, so 0-0 saw them going through. However, had Juve won the second leg 1-0, they would have won the game 2-2, as they scored one goal away from home. So, yeah, you're right.

S/WM: I didn't watch it, as I was at a gig, but by all reports, it was an awesome game. Scoreless draw can be tremendous. 7-1 victories can be boring. That's the wonder of the greatest, and most popular, team sport on planet Earth.

As far as stateside violence, try wearing a washington redskins jearsey to a philadelphia eagles game in philly..you might get some action.

so for you east london types who had the original firm west ham or millwall? or was it an organic type thing.

and as far as soccer in the US, if we didn't have to watch crap MSL, the retirment league for every international hasbeen, and had cheap access to the english, spanish and italian leagues there might be a bit more support.

but those espn and sports page junkies holding on to the dying sham of the NFL with its coaching by committee and computers and hyper specialized atheletes and games that stop every 15seconds...anyway watch a rugby game to see what the NFL is missing. anyway....
