I don't think I could ever sell my Orange as I'm quite attached to it and it does its thing really well. But not even the greatness of the Orange will get rid of that little voice in my head telling me that what I really want/need for the stuff I play is a JTM-45/tweed Bassman type of circuit.Closest I ever got to either was a YBA-1, and I regret selling that amp almost every single day.Have you looked at the Sovtek Mig 50?While those are awesome amps, they're not quite the same as a Bassman/JTM45. Theyre more akin to later Marshalls like the 1987 and 1986.I was under the impression the MIG 50 was based on the Bassman and the 60 & 100 were Marshall The MIG 50s use 5881s which are basically 6L6s, the others use EL34s EDIT: In fact...Miko wrote:....The Mig 50 is a dead ringer for a bassman with running higher voltage. Because that's basically what it is. Think Marshall JTM 45, which was a hot bassman itself. As you may know there is no master volume. They sound better with European 6L6's than with their stock russian 5881's.The Mig 60 is, in my opinion, similar to a JMP Marshall Master Model. Classic master volume Marshall tones......

I put it in front of a BA bunnydrive, and both pedals sound good but pretty restrained independently, while together they're good and fuzzy....Plus, I just got an Orange A/B/Y (with isolated transformer and phase switch), so I'm enjoying running two amps (one '74 Marshall 100-watter; one Top Hat Deluxe-style) together, too.yeah I put mine in front of an earthquaker crimson drive and they play real nice together. The clip knob is wild! Then I go into el capistan into a Garnet Pro and a Garnet Rebel PA. We're a three piece and both other guys really liked this pedal. I think I'm going to stick with this for a good amount of time. Plus the presence of our coiled, slithery deity gives me the confidence I lacked. And a cause! Hail Dr.

I've seen early Ross pedals (tan and in standard cases, not the recessed knobs one) that had two Ge diodes and were quiet as hell! I had a black Ross pedal in the recessed knob case that was two Si diodes; one in each direction. I've never see a 2+1 Ross, but that doesn't mean they don't exist.Cheers!benMy black one has 2 silicon. My bandmate's tan one (recessed knobs) has 2 germanium. His was made in Kansas. Mine in Taiwan.UPDATE: I opened up my black Ross and it DOES have 3 diodes in there! Oddly, there is a cap physically on the board between a pair and the other one, but I can't see the trace side of the PCB...Anyway, the Balls KWB sounds great! I could dial in a very similar sound to my normal Ross setting but it's still its own thing. The mids are bit different, guessing because of the tweaked cap values and the different chip. Digging the Si setting with a little of the clipping dialed back. band practice is tonight though, so Imma get loud.

Perfect!Different than what I expected but actually much more useful for me.nice! What are your settings? I guess this is an open question for everyone. What's sounding good, folks?
kerble is right.
